GloryBee’s Bakers Light Amber (BLA) honey is a blend of select honey from around the globe. Each of these different types of honey are produced on a seasonal basis depending on the floral source and region it is collected from so the blend may vary from batch to batch. BLA is primarily used in baking due to the fact that it has a stronger flavor profile and is darker in color than classic clover honey. This stronger flavor and darker color complement other ingredients such as flour and grains exceptionally well.
GloryBee believes that it is critical to ensure that our honey is ethically and legally sourced in a transparent, traceable manner. We go above and beyond to protect this by being True Source Certified. Visit the True Source Honey page, to learn why True Source is so important.
The product shelf life is depending on storage conditions and is highly variable. Bakers light amber honey should be stored under cool, dry conditions and in a humidity-controlled environment. The industry standard for shelf life, when stored under optimum conditions, is 24 months from the date of manufacture.
Honey may take on a semi-solid crystallized state due to its high sugar content. The rate honey crystallizes depends upon the floral source, moisture level, and storage conditions. Crystallization does not affect the quality of honey and is not an indicator of shelf life. Gentle warming will return the honey to a more liquid state. GloryBee guarantees the when properly stored, our honey will remain in a liquid state 90 days from the date of production.
Although not well-suited as a table honey, the sweetness of this honey is perfect for use in baking recipes to enhance the flavors of grains in homemade bread and granola. The flavor is robust with a moderate umami taste. It has a warm aroma similar to malted grains. The consistency is thin and smooth, ideal for blending into a batter when baking.
