Description

With a strong, sweet, and slightly astringent flavor with a warm undertone, it is common to use organic cloves in spice blends such as pumpkin pie spice. Organic cloves pair well with many other foods and spices including cinnamon, allspice, vanilla, red wine, basil, onion, citrus peel, star anise, and pepper.

Cloves are the dried flower buds of the clove tree, Syzygium aromaticum. They are native to the Maluki Islands in Indonesia but are now cultivated in other parts of the world including Madagascar, Sri Lanka, and Brazil. Cloves are a popular ingredient in Asian, African, Near and Middle East cuisines. In the U.S. they are commonly used as an ingredient in seasonal baked goods, desserts, and beverages.

The product shelf life is dependent on storage conditions. It should be stored under cool, dry conditions and in a humidity-controlled environment. When stored under optimum conditions, the shelf life is 24 months from the date of manufacture.
