All purpose trans-fat free Organic Palmfruit Shortening RBD/S (Refined, Bleached, and Deodorized Shortening) from GloryBee is white in color and neutral in flavor. It makes a deliciously flaky pie crust, buttery smooth frosting, and is perfect for a wide variety of soap and skincare applications.
Our organic Palmfruit Shortening has a high smoke point, is shelf-stable, and is naturally solid at room temperature. It’s an excellent, non-hydrogenated substitute for traditional shortenings, butters, or spreads which can be ridden with harmful trans fatty acids that result from industrial hydrogenation processing.
This oil is remarkably versatile and can be used for shortening, baking, margarine, sautéing, deep frying, and soaps. Our Organic Palmfruit Shortening RBD/S is an ideal addition to vegetarian, vegan, whole food, paleo, ketogenic, and gluten-free diets.
For body care, it can be used as an ingredient for creams, lotions, lip balm, ointments and soap. Its primary applications in the body care industry are as an emollient for lotions and balms, a sustainable alternative to petroleum ingredients in cosmetics, and can improve the functionality of natural soaps and other cleaning products.
The pulp of the palmfruit is pressed separately from the kernel, which results in unrefined red palm oil. This unrefined red palm oil can then be refined, bleached, and deodorized (RBD) to remove the color and flavor, leaving a more neutral oil.

Product shelf life is dependent on storage conditions and is highly variable. Products should be stored under cool, dry conditions and in a humidity controlled environment. Industry standard for product, when stored under optimum conditions, is 18 months from the date of manufacture.
We source our Organic Palmfruit Shortening RBD/S from Northwest Ecuador, allowing a “Farmer to Fork” supply chain to verify sustainability, collection, production and processing to meet organic standards, so no rainforests or animal habitats are harmed during farming or harvest.
The palm is grown on small family farms in Ecuador where farmers work together in a participative and inclusive production model to ensure the economic and social impact is distributed in an equitable way to all the regions where they work.
Being sourced from Ecuador, our Palmfruit Shortening does not have an impact on orangutan habitats since they do not live in Ecuador. This also means our Palmfruit Shortening travels less distance and uses fewer resources than Palm Oil sourced from Asia.
