Description
Our
RSPO Certified all purpose trans-fat free palmfruit shortening is RBD which means it is refined, bleached and deodorized. It is white in color and neutral in flavor. It makes a deliciously flaky pie crust, buttery smooth frosting, and is perfect for a wide variety of soap and skincare applications.
Palmfruit shortening has a high smoke point, is shelf-stable, and is naturally solid at room temperature. It’s an excellent, non-hydrogenated substitute for traditional shortenings, butters, or spreads which can be ridden with harmful trans fatty acids that result from industrial hydrogenation processing.
This oil is remarkably versatile and can be used for shortening, baking, margarine, sautéing, deep frying, and soaps. It is an ideal addition to vegetarian, vegan, whole food, paleo, ketogenic, and gluten-free diets.
For body care, it can be used as an ingredient for creams, lotions, lip balm, ointments and soap. Its primary applications in the body care industry are as an emollient for lotions and balms, a sustainable alternative to petroleum ingredients in cosmetics, and can improve the functionality of natural soaps and other cleaning products.
The pulp of the palmfruit is pressed separately from the kernel, which results in unrefined red palm oil. This unrefined red palm oil can then be refined, bleached, and deodorized (RBD) to remove the color and flavor, leaving a more neutral oil.

SHELF LIFE & STORAGE
Product shelf life is dependent on storage conditions and is highly variable. Palmfruit shortening should be stored under cool, dry conditions and in a humidity controlled environment.
