Description

GloryBee's Raw Pacific Northwest Blackberry Blossom Honey is a regional classic! The native Pacific blackberry (Rubus ursinus) can be found growing wild in dappled sunny patches and trailing throughout the woods from the Cascade Mountains to the Pacific Coast. Native Americans in the Pacific Northwest commonly used the berries and plants for food and medicinal purposes.

Blackberry FlowerDelicate, small, pale white to lavender-pink flowers cover blackberry canes and emit a pleasant fragrance. The honey flow begins in the spring when these flowers start to bloom. Our premium Raw Pacific Northwest Blackberry Honey is made by bees gathering nectar from this abundant source. It is a medium amber color with a rich taste and texture.

This 100% pure, raw honey is not only regionally sourced in the Pacific Northwest of the United States making it a sustainable option, but it also supports SAVE the BEE®. We're proud to bring you a raw honey that meets European standards for bee pollen content. Because of the unique way our honey is handled, it retains the bee pollen, enzymes, and other micronutrients generally lost during processing. Our raw honey is never heated over 115 degrees F and is only strained, never filtered. A portion of sales from this honey is donated to honey bee research and the issue of colony collapse disorder (CCD). Certified kosher and naturally gluten-free, GloryBee's Raw Pacific Northwest Blossom Honey is honey you can feel good about eating and sharing with your friends and family.

Taking this kind of care means that you receive the quality honey you expect.

Honey Storage FAQS:

What is the shelf life of honey?

Honey stored in sealed containers can remain stable for decades and even centuries! However, honey is susceptible to physical and chemical changes during storage; it tends to darken and lose its aroma and flavor. This is a temperature-dependent process, making the shelf life of honey difficult to define. For practical purposes, a shelf life of two years is often stated. Properly processed, packaged, and stored honey retains its quality for a long time.

What is the best storage temperature for honey?

Processed honey should be stored between 64-75° F (18-24° C). Honey can be exposed to higher temperatures for brief periods; however, heat damage is cumulative so heat exposure should be limited. It is best to minimize temperature fluctuations and avoid storing honey near heat sources.

The recommended storage temperature for unprocessed (raw) honey is below 50° F (10° C). The ideal temperature for both unprocessed and processed honey is below 32° F (0° C). Cooler temperatures best preserve the aroma, flavor, and color of unprocessed honey.

What is crystallized honey?

Honey stored in sealed containers can remain stable for decades and even centuries! However, honey is susceptible to physical and chemical changes during storage; it tends to darken and lose its aroma and flavor. This is a temperature-dependent process, making the shelf life of honey difficult to define. For practical purposes, a shelf life of two years is often stated. Properly processed, packaged, and stored honey retains its quality for a long time. GloryBee guarantees the when properly stored, our honey will remain in a liquid state 90 days from the date of production.

Is honey usually stable?

Honey is highly stable against microbial growth because of its low water activity, low moisture content, low pH, and antimicrobial constituents.
