Our organic rye berries can be boiled and eaten as a nutritious cereal or ground into a flour to make bread and other baked goods.  Rye berries are also widely used to make different types alcohol including beer, whisky and some vodka.

Rye is a a member of the grass family and is closely related to wheat and barley. Rye is known to be a powerhouse food as it contains many different antioxidants, phytonutrients, vitamins and minerals including copper, magnesium and phosphorous.  Rye is an excellent source of soluble fiber and is fairly low in calories compared to wheat.  Rye berries also known as rye seeds have a wide variety of uses.

Condition:  Less than 2% broken kernels and hulls
Not Ready-To-Eat (RTE):  Raw grains and the flour milled from grains are not RTE.  This product is a raw ingredient, and must be properly cooked, prior to being consumed.

Organic rye berries should be stored in cool, dry, ambient temperatures of 35-55 degrees F.  When stored under recommended conditions, the shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture.
