Our small baker's pieces walnuts are of the English variety grown in California which produces 99% of the total U.S. commerce of English walnuts. Walnuts are a nutrient dense food containing on average 15% protein, 65% fat, 14% carbohydrates and 7% fiber. They are also rich in the dietary mineral manganese, B vitamins and Omega 3's making them known as the ultimate brain-boosting food. Since 2016, the US FDA allows for products containing walnuts to state a Qualified Health Claim which reads "Supportive but not conclusive research shows that eating 1.5 ounces per day of walnuts, as part of a low saturated fat and low cholesterol diet and not resulting in increased caloric intake, may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease." Our small baker's pieces are diced to a size that is smaller than 3/8 of an inch but larger than 1/4 of an inch.
These small bakers pieces walnuts also meet USDA standards and are pasteurized using Napasol vacuum dry steam technology. They are the perfect, ready-to-use size in toppings, pastries, fillings and other baked goods.

Product shelf life is dependent on storage conditions and is highly variable. Walnuts should be stored under cool, dry conditions and in a humidity controlled environment. The industry standard for shelf life, when stored under optimum conditions, is 24 months from date of manufacture.
