Grapefruit essential oil is pale yellow to yellow in color. Grapefruit is a hybrid subtropical citrus fruit that is a cross between a sweet orange and a pomelo. When it was introduced to Barbados in the seventeenth century, it was referred to as "the forbidden fruit" and is now considered one of the "Seven Wonders of Barbados". It blends well with bergamot, clary sage, eucalyptus, lavender, lemon, patchouli, peppermint and rosemary essential oils. It is widely used to make perfumes and in skin care products such as lotions, creams and face wash products. It also works wonderfully in aroma diffusers or in household cleaners as it fills a room with an uplifting and energizing aroma. Many food manufacturers use grapefruit essential oil to add flavor and Vitamin C to their food and beverages.

Fresh, sweet, tangy, citrus.
The aroma of grapefruit essential oil is very energizing and invigorating and has been used to boost mood and motivation. It is also known to be very beneficial for skin issues such as acne and oily skin due to its antibacterial and astringent properties.
Top, Middle or Base Note
Most citrus oils, including grapefruit oil, are considered to be phototoxic, which causes an increase in sensitivity to sunlight, often resulting in skin irritation. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight if applied topically, even if diluted. Taken internally, grapefruit oil could have interactions with prescribed drugs.
Purity and Grading
All of our essential oils are 100% pure, undiluted oils. We strive to source the highest quality oils from established, reputable suppliers that value purity, sustainability and natural practices. We are often questioned by customers whether our oils are “therapeutic grade”.
The term “therapeutic grade” was created and trademarked by newer essential oil companies to differentiate their products from others on the market. The truth of the matter is that the Food and Drug Administration does not certify the quality of essential oils as “therapeutic grade” nor do they provide a certifying label. GloryBee Essential Oils provide the same quality, purity, and reputability as therapeutic grade oils – often times at a lower prices.
