Learn MoreGreg has done everything from circus clowning to marketing. Some refer to him as a “jack of all trades, master of none,” but that is about to change, because Greg is nearly done with his Master Beekeeping apprentice classes, taken through the Oregon State Master Beekeepers’ Program.
Becoming a Master Beekeeper takes three years- apprentice, journeyman, and finally master. The master apprentice is the first step and is a total immersion in beekeeping management practices. Greg enthusiastically states, “We’re learning everything—medication, bee space, pest control, nutrition, brood patterns, queen rearing, extraction techniques. I love it!”
The most beneficial part of the master apprentice program is being assigned a beekeeping mentor, who helped Greg hone his beekeeping skills and raise a hive of healthy happy bees.
