Description

Lemon essential oils can be pale yellow to deep yellow in color. Lemons are grown on small evergreen trees native to Asia but are now grown in many other warm climates around the world. The essential oil contains the naturally occurring chemical d-limonene, with potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It blends well with eucalyptus and lavender essential oils for an invigorating aroma. It is also used in the culinary industry to flavor drinks, confections and cakes.

Lemon essential oil has many uses and benefits. Most citrus oils, including lemon oil, are considered to be phototoxic, which causes an increase in sensitivity to sunlight, often resulting in skin irritation. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight if applied topically, even if diluted.
