With a nutty flavor, soft texture and medium brown color, our organic flaxseed meal is commonly used in baked goods such as bread, muffins, biscuits, and pancakes.

Also known as linseed, flax is a very common food & fiber crop grown in cooler regions around the world. Due to the hard outer shell of whole flax seeds, this ground organic flaxseed meal allows the body to extract more nutritional value than eating whole seeds alone.

A 100 gram serving of organic flax seed meal is made up of 41 grams of fat, 28 grams of fiber and 20 grams of protein The fat composition is broken down into 54% omega-3 fatty acids, 18% omega-9 fatty acids, 6% omega-6 fatty acids and 9% saturated fat. It is a good source of B vitamins (B1, B6, B3) as well as the dietary minerals thiamine, magnesium, potassium and phosphorous.

SUGGESTED STORAGE

The shelf life of organic brown flax seed meal is dependent on storage conditions and is highly variable. It should be stored under cool, dry conditions and in a humidity-controlled environment. Refrigeration is recommended. The industry standard for shelf life, when stored under optimum conditions, is 18 months from the date of manufacture.
